New Fire Trucks on the Way

Due to a backlog at Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, Wisc. Glynn County’s five new firetrucks, ordered in January of last year, will arrive early next month. The county is going back to the traditional red color for the new vehicles, instead of the greenish yellow that has been used for years. At a cost of about $2.5 million they will replace trucks purchased as far back as the early 1970s. The ladder truck and two pumpers will go to Station 1 on Community Road, one will go to Station 2 on St. Simons next to McKinnon Airport and the other will go to Station 5 at the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport.
