City Looking at In-House Probation Services

The city of Brunswick currently contracts with Sentinel Offender Services for probation operations but that could change if the city commission decides to handle the service in-house. Sentinel has been acquired by CRSA Probation Services according to Police Chief Kevin Jones. During a finance committee meeting on Tuesday, City Manager Jim Drumm said it was not the first time they’ve had a discussion about bringing probation service in-house. The city’s contract with Sentinel / CRSA ends in April and city administrators would like to add the start-up cost and expected revenues for in-house services to the city’s next fiscal year budget.
