A Brantley County Commissioner believes a landfill proposed by Brantley County Development Partners, is not in compliance with the county’s solid waste management plan created in 2006, nor with the updated solid waste management plan approved in January. Commissioner Jesse Mobley believes the county has the legal standing to deny construction of the landfill that has generated strong opposition throughout the region. In addition the state Environmental Protection Division returned a permit request to the company saying the Dec. 29 application filed with the state is incomplete.
