Senate Votes to Reduce THC in Medical Marijuana

Senate Bill 16, sponsored by state Sen. Ben Watson, R-Savannah, was passed by the senate yesterday and would reduce the maximum THC level in the cannabis oil allowed in Georgia’s medical marijuana law from 5 percent to 3 percent. The bill also adds autism to the state’s list of those eligible for use of the oil. The bill now moves to the house which is considering separate efforts, including HB 65 and HR 36, to expand the law.
