Gun, Threats Found in Glynn Schools

Two separate incidents made students and their parents fearful in Glynn County Schools Thursday.

At Glynn Academy , threatening graffiti was found on a bathroom stall. Students called School Police after they found a note scratched into the stall warning that someone was going to shoot up the school on February 17th. Police investigated the threat and have deemed it not credible, but will be beefing up security at Glynn Academy just in case.

At Needwood, a routine K9 search of the school discovered a 13-year-old sixth grader in possession of a .380 caliber Taurus handgun. The gun was not loaded and was, in fact, missing the magazine. The student was taken to Glynn County Juveniule Court where he will face charges of possession of a weapon on a school campus.
