Rep. Jones Wants to Supervise Road Project

With the Glynn County Commissioners allocating $3.25 million of SPLOST 2016 revenue to road improvements at the intersection of Spur 25 and the Altama Connector, Rep. Jeff Jones wants to be involved with the state Department of Transportation’s review and approval of the improvements. While it is a Glynn County project, the DOT must approve it before the county can start. Jones wants to get involved at the DOT level because of what he sees as past excesses and negligence. Jones said the DOT is now doing its best to use tax money effectively, but he wants to head off any potential problems.
