Two days after Brunswick Fire Chief Randy Mobley worked his final day, County Fire Chief Randy Jordan has submitted is resignation effective immediately. In a letter dated July 29th, Jordan expresses his sentiment that firefighting is a young man;s game, and that a pending back surgery could leave the department without leadership for some time.

Glynn County Fire Chief Jordan Retires
GLYNN COUNTY, GA. – Glynn County would like to announce the retirement of Fire Chief R.K. Jordan from the Glynn County Fire Department. Chief Jordan submitted a letter for retirement to County Manager William Fallon effective immediately. Chief Jordan has served as the Chief for Glynn County the past 6 years. He has been a firefighter and volunteer firefighter for a total of 47 years.
Chief Jordan was hired from the city of Ft. Myers, FL in 2016 where he also served as Fire Chief for that community. He brought innovations and technology to Glynn County along with a new training discipline. He commanded a department of 135 firefighters, administrators, inspectors, and emergency medical service personnel and resided over 8 fire houses in the county.
“Chief Jordan has dedicated 47 years of his life to firefighting, an amazing accomplishment” said County Manager William Fallon. “We want to thank him for his dedication to Glynn County, to public service and to the firefighting profession.”
Assistant Chief Vincent DiCristofalo will serve as acting Chief. Chief DiCristofalo began his fire service career in Panama City, FL in 1997. He joined the Ft. Myers, FL Fire Department in 2000 and served as Deputy Fire Chief and Division Chief of Training before making the move to Glynn County in June of 2022
