A Georgia school bus driver died and two students have been injured after a school bus and utility truck collided Friday morning south of Atlanta. Two students suffered major injuries

The Georgia State Patrol identified the driver as 69-year-old Sebastian Ciarcia of Yatesville. State troopers say Ciarcia crossed into the opposite lane of a two-laned road, hit the utility truck, and then lost control of the bus as it ran off the road and crashed into trees.

The bus driver was working for the Thomaston-Upson County school district. Officials say that three students were on the bus at the time of the wreck. Of those three, two were taken to the hospital in Thomaston.

The third student on the bus and the utility truck driver were not injured.

The Thomaston-Upson school system released a statement about the accident on Facebook:
