Judge orders extension to deadline for absentee ballots in Georgia

According to an article from the Associated Press, a federal judge has ordered an extension on Georgia's deadline for accepting in-mail ballots ahead of November's general election. It has been extended for up to three days from the close of polls on Election Day.

Absentee ballots must be received by close of polls on Election Day. Monday, U.S. Judge Eleanor Ross ordered the extension of the deadline until 7pm three days later, as long as they are postmarked on Election Day.

There is an effort being made to try to appeal the ruling from the secretary of state's office.
