4-Year-Old Boy Found Wandering The Streets After Getting Left On School Bus

Did you leave a sleeping child on your Bus?

A four-year-old boy was left alone on a school bus in Georgia after falling asleep on his way to school. The bus driver did not realize the boy was still on the bus and returned home after his morning shift.

A couple of hours later, the boy woke up all alone inside the bus, which was parked outside of the driver's home. The boy exited the bus and started wandering the streets when he was spotted by a construction worker who called the police.

Officers took the boy back to Jefferson Parkway Elementary School and contacted his parents.

Authorities said the bus driver is not facing any charges following the incident.

"The Newnan Police Department is aware of an incident this morning of a child left on a school bus with no adult supervision. The child was reunited with his mother after officers were called to meet the individuals that located the child walking," the Newnan Police Department wrote on Facebook. "Unless new developments arise, no criminal intent has been determined. No charges have been filed, and Coweta County School System is handling the incident administratively."

Coweta County School System spokesman Dean Jackson said that the bus driver, who has not been identified, was placed on leave while officials investigate the matter.
