The retrial of 63 year old Leonard Bernard Palmitesto got underway this week in Glynn County Superior Court. Palmitesto is charged with five counts of child molestation, three counts of sexual battery on a child younger than 16 and one count of aggravated child molestation for acts allegedly committed in July and August of 2016. Under cross examination Tuesday, the 14 year old victim, who suffers with cerebal palsy, contradicted herself in the space of several minutes. The ability to judge the girl’s statements, was one of the reasons a jury was unable to return a verdict in Palmitesto's first trial in May.
