Jekyll to Receive Irma Funds for Revetment

Jekyll Island will be getting $4 million in state funding from Governor Nathan Deal’s Emergency Fund to cover costs associated with the rehabilitation of the rock revetment on the North end of the island due to erosion from Hurricane Irma. Signing an Executive Order for the money yesterday, Deal also said he will seek supplemental funding in the amended budget to assist other beach-front areas impacted by hurricane-related erosion.
