A recent traffic study by the county concluded that a traffic light is needed at the intersection of Canal Rd. and the Old Jesup Rd. The county finance committee has recommended to add $50,000 to the budget for the light. The long term solution to traffic problems at the intersection includes an additional lane at a cost of about $300,000. County officials said the traffic light will provide a solution in the short term.
