County Passes Tax Increase

Last night the Glynn County Commission passed the 1.71 millage rate increase for maintenance and operations and the .42 millage increase for the fire fund on a 5-2 to vote. Voting against the increase we're Commissioners Bob Coleman and Mark Stambaugh. Mayor Cornell Harvey spoke against the county Fire increase For City residents calling it double taxation. He said the city planned to look into the legality of City residents paying into the County Fire fund. He also said the city would look into prior years' amounts paid by City residents into the county fire fund.
