Brunswick Officer Cleared in Shooting

Brunswick Police Officer Aldrid Spaulding III was cleared by the district attorney’s office in a July 3 shooting incident. The DA determined that Spaulding acted within the law when he shot and killed David Leon Bell who was stabbing a woman outside an N St. apartment complex. Spaulding has been on paid administrative leave as a matter of department policy since the shooting, while the GBI and DA’s Office investigated. Spaulding was off duty at the time of the incident and was called upon to intervene by bystanders.
