After receiving complaints from residents about water odors in the Shadow Lake subdivision off Harry Driggers Blvd., the Joint Water and Sewer Commission investigated and discovered the source was from water valves that had been closed for an undetermined amount of time. During the investigation JWSC staff found out the chlorine residual used to kill bacteria in the water was mostly absent. JWSC Executive Director Jimmy Junkin said the valves were likely closed by contractors.
