There were two car accidents on the Sidney Lanier Bridge Friday afternoon that left the southbound lanes completely closed. Two vehicles were involved in the first crash around 4:57 p.m. One of the vehicles apparently was wedged against the bridge’s inside wall by the other vehicle. A police officer responding to that crash was involved in the second crash, according to City police officials. The southbound lanes were closed until all the vehicles involved were cleared.
