Glynn County Superior Court Judge Robert Guy has issued a consent order restricting anyone from taking any action that would affect the St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church property at 1253 George Lotson Ave. on St. Simons Island. The property has been the subject of a dispute between the trustees of the local church and the 6th District of the national AME organization. The church has not been used since last fall when it was damaged by Tropical Storm Hermine. Local developer Vassa Cate filed for a demolition permit, which sparked the local trustees to seek legal action.
