The Joint Water and Sewer commission had to repair a section of leaking water pipe under a portion of the Demere / Frederica Rd. roundabout on St. Simons yesterday. The new water line that was installed in 2007 was laid on top the old abandoned pipe and the road vibration caused it to fail. The project required the closing of the right turn lane portion of the roundabout in front of Southern Soul Barbeque, but yesterday afternoon JWSC officials said it would be reopened by yesterday evening.
